De entre las curiosidades geológicas de la zona, cabe citar la teoría según la cual un gran asteroide cayó en la zona hace entre 30 y 40 millones de años.

Azuara is a village situated in the Campo de Belchite region at 600 meters of altitude, it doesn’t rain very much here, but with the help of the Cámaras river, they can create a refreshing vega where fruit trees and vegetables contribute to paint a colourful note in the landscape.
The historical heritage of the town is awesome, you can find a melting of romanesque art, moorish influence and in the archaeological site of La Malena, a splendid roman villa with one of the most important mosaics collections in Spain, like the famous one, Carmo and Harmonia’s weddings. There are some points where ancient iberian culture appears too.
In the geological area, Azuara impact structure is a theory that explains that the earth was bombarded by meteorites 40 million years ago and one of them fell just here causing deformation in rocks and a circular shape that has been removed by erosion.
